Locals seize cattle-laden three vehicles in Assam’s Karimganj

Guwahati, Aug 10 (IBNS): Ahead of the Eid al-Adha or Eid Qurban, local people have seized suspected smuggled cattle in Assam’s Karimganj town, the bordering town along Indo-Bangladesh border.

Locals seized six numbers of cattle which were carried in three vehicles last night.

When some locals were trying to stop the cattle laden vehicles, the drivers of the three vehicles fled from the area by leaving the vehicles.

The situation turned worse when local police were trying to release the seized cattle from the public clutch.

Locals alleged that, Karimganj district police are involved with the cattle smugglers.

Later, police were forced to seize the cattle after the public staged protest against the police act.
