New Delhi: Fire breaks out at residential building, 6 killed

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IBNS):  At least six people were killed as a fire broke out at a residential building in New Delhi's  Zakir Nagar area on Tuesday, media reports said.

Zakir Nagar is one of the densely congexted parts of the city.

According to media reports, several injured people were rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Holy Family Hospital for treatement.

The injured people also include two fire fighters, media reports said.

Atul Garg, chief fire officer of Delhi Fire Services, told Hindustan Times that prima facie it looked like the fire broke out in the electric metre board of the building that has a stilt parking and four floors.

The firefighters reached the spot and rescued 20 people.

The identities of the dead and the injured and their relationship with each other are being ascertained, a senior police officer told Hindustan Times.
