TMC MP Satabdi Roy keen to return money received from Saradha Groups

Kolkata, Jul 30 (UNI) Following the footsteps of Mithun Chakraborty, actor turned Trinamool Congress MP Satabdi Roy has reportedly written to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) wishing to return the money she had received from the defunct Saradha Group of companies at different assignments for promotions.

Sources had information in the development said Lok Sabha member from Birbhum district Satabdi Roy recently written a letter to ED said she wanted to return Rs 29 lakh, she had received from Saradha Group of companies for promotional events at different times.

TMC MP Satabdi Roy had been quizzed both by the CBI and ED in connection with the Saradha Ponzi scheme case. She was a brand ambassador of the Saradha Group and it was suspected

that she had taken money from the Ponzi scheme company to promote it.

The CBI had registered the case on June 4, 2014, by a Supreme Court order dated May 9, 2014, against then CMD of Saradha Group, Sudipto Sen, and others under penal provisions about

criminal conspiracy, cheating and other offences.

Former TMC Rajya Sabha MP and actor Mithun Chakraborty has returned the money he received from the Saradha group to the Enforcement Directorate. Chakraborty's lawyer had deposited a draft for Rs 1.19 crore at the Enforcement Directorate office in Kolkata.
