Crime: Four dreaded arms smugglers arrested in Bihar

Rajgir, Jul 5 (UNI) Special Task Force (STF) arrested four arms smugglers with firearms in Nai Sarai locality under Bihar police station area in Nalanda district late last night.

Police Superintendent Nilesh Kumar said here today that STF and police personnel from Bihar police station raided the house of notorious arms smuggler Shankar Mahto in New Sarai locality on the basis of specific intelligence input and arrested four arms smugglers. He said that a country revolver, three country pistols, 55 live cartridges, Rs 92 000 in cash, four mobile phones and two motorcycles were recovered from their possession.

SP said that the nabbed smuggler had been identified as Shankar Mahto, Uday Kuamr alias Sunil Kumar, a resident of Bihar police station area, Chanchal Kumar, a native of Orono village under Mufassil police station area and Rakesh Kumar, a native of Dibri village.

An intensive interrogation of arms smuggler was on to nab other members of their gang, sources added.
