Srinagar, Jun 16 (UNI) Train service resumed on Sunday after remaining suspended for two days for security reasons in south Kashmir, where two militants of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed by security forces in an encounter in Pulwama.

However, train service between Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir was not affected, a railway official told UNI.

He said train service between Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund and Banihal in Jammu region was resumed this morning.

All trains were running as per schedule, since morning.

Service was resumed after receiving a fresh advisory from police on Saturday night, he said.

He added railway department was acting on the advice of police since the security and safety of passengers and railway property was important.

In the past railway suffered losses worth crores of rupees during demonstrations in the valley.
