Faridkot, Jun 15 (UNI) In Kotakpura firing and sacrilege incident, the local court here on Saturday fixed July 12 as the next date of hearing.

On October 14, 2015, two among those who were protesting against the 'sacrilege' of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari village of Faridkot district, were killed in alleged police firing.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formulated after police failed to take any action under the influence of higher officials in the case.

The SIT has alleged that both DSP and SHO concealed the facts and also destroyed the material evidence.

Former Inspector General of Police Paramraj Singh Umranangal on Saturday appeared in the court but former Moga Senior Superintendent of Police Charanjit Singh Sharma failed to appear due to his illness as his advocate produced ex-SSP's medical certificate to the court. Both the police officials are suspended.
