Nine labourers from Rajasthan killed in Leh road accident

Leh, Jun 9 (UNI) Nine people hailing from Rajasthan were killed in a road accident in this district of Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, official sources said on Sunday.

According to sources, a cement-laden truck on its way to Leh from Srinagar skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Lamayuru on the highway resulting in on the spot death of nine persons, including three minors.

The deceased were labourers from Rajasthan, the source apprised.

The labourers belonged to two families and were residents of Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan.

A massive hunt has been launched to nab the driver of the truck who fled from the spot after the accident.

Police have registered a case under FIR no 55/2019 u/s 279, 338, 304-A RPC and taken up investigation.
