Maharashtra: Woman social welfare officer, clerk held for graft

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, May 15 (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau here on Wednesday arrested a woman social welfare officer and her aide clerk on the alleged charges of accepting Rs 5,000 as bribe from the complainant.

According to the ACB,the accused woman Mina Ashok Ambadekar (45) demanded Rs 5,000 bribe in lieu of approving the leaves of the complainant,who is an employee at the Government Adult Disable Training Centre.


On May 13,the aggrieved person registered a complaint with the ACB against the accused woman social welfare officer and based on his allegations the sleuths laid a trap at the office premises.


The clerk Hanif Ibrahim Shaikh (48) was nabbed red-handed while accepting the bribe on behalf of accused Ambadekar, stated the ACB.


The Kranthi Chowk Police have registered offence against both the accused under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act,added the ACB.
