CBSE Class 10th : 91.1% pass exam; girls outshine boys; Trivandrum tops with 99.85%

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday declared the Class 10th Board results with pass percentage of 91.10 per cent, while girls have once again proved their mettle and scored better than boys by 2.31 per cent in the examination.

This year a total of 16,04,428 students passed the Class 10th Board exam which were held between February 15 to April 4. An increase of 4.40 per cent was registered in Pass percentage. Last year, 86.70 students could pass the examination.

Girls outshone boys by 2.31 per cent. A total of 92.42 per cent girls passed the examination this year while 90.14 boys could clear.

Trivandrum tops the region-wise results with 99.85 passing percentage. Chennai stood at second position with 99 per cent followed by Ajmer at 95.89 %, Panchkula at 93.72 per cent.

Delhi secured ninth position with 80.97 pass percentage.

A total of 19,298 schools participated in the exercise while examinations were held at 4974 centres.
