Rajasthan: Two villages boycott LS polls

Sriganganagar, May 6 (UNI) To express their resentment over lack of basic amenities, two villages viz Chak 20 AS and Shyonathpura of Anupgarh and Suratgarh assemblies boycotted the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls on Monday.

As per initial reports, residents of Chak 20 village boycotted the voting process over drinking water supply issue.

The villagers accused the authorities of not paying any heed to there frequent requests.

The people said that there is acute scarcity of water in their village. After ten voters exercised their franchise, the villagers decided against voting.

The village comes in Sriganganagar parliamentary constituency.

Residents of Shyonathpura village also boycotted polls over the issue of development works in their village of Suratgarh Assembly.

The people of this village said that their development work has been stalled for a long time and no party took care of this village.

Meanwhile, efforts are also being made to convince people to vote.
