Srinagar, Apr 21 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have condemned the serial blasts in Sri Lanka that left over 150 people dead and over 300 others injured.

Mehbooba, who is the President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said the sole purpose of these barbaric acts is to create panic and hatred amongst people.

“Pained to hear about the horrific serial blasts in Sri Lanka. The sole purpose of these barbaric acts is to create panic & hatred amongst people. It would help not to draw conclusions by floating irresponsible & baseless theories,” Mehbooba wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Reacting to the attacks, Abdullah, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), said it had been hoped that the end of the war with the Tamil Tigers would also see the end of terror attacks on the Emerald Isle but sadly that hope has been shattered today.

“Terrorism strikes #SriLanka again. It had been hoped that the end of the war with the Tamil Tigers would also see the end of terror attacks on the Emerald Isle but sadly that hope has been shattered today,” Abdullah tweeted.

“While condemning these horrible attacks, designed to cause massive loss of life on a day that was to be celebrated, my prayers for the deceased & injured as also for their loved ones. #SriLankaAttacks,” he added.

Multiple explosions hit three churches and two hotels this morning in and around the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo that left 185 people dead and 500 others injured amid Easter celebrations.
