Lata Mangeshkar congratulates PM Narendra Modi for being awarded with Order of St Andrew the Apostle

Mumbai, Apr 13 (IBNS): Veteran Indian singer Lata Mageshkar on Saturday congratulated PM Narendra Modi for being awarded with the Order of St Andrew the Apostle, the highest order of the Russian Federation.

Mageshkar tweeted to wish the PM.

In yet another achievement in the political career of Narendra Modi, Russia has awarded the Indian PM with Order of St Andrew the Apostle, the highest order of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Embassy said in a tweet that Modi has been awarded for his exceptional services in 'promoting special & privileged strategic partnership' between India and Russia.

"On April 12, @narendramodi was decorated with the Order of St Andrew the Apostle for exceptional services in promoting special & privileged strategic partnership between and and friendly relations between the Russian and Indian peoples. @mfa_russia @MEAIndia @IndEmbMoscow," the Embassy tweeted.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently awarded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with its highest civilian award - Zayed Medal. 

Modi was awarded the special honour by the Russian government at a time when the country is hosting its general polls.

The first phase of the seven-phased elections was held on Thursday.

Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
