Shopian, Feb 27 (IBNS): Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian area on Wednesday, officials said.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot, police said.

"#Shopian #encounter update: 02 #JeMterrorists killed in the ongoing operation. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Searches in the area are going on. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice," Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.

The encounter took place just a day after India bombed and destroyed Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) biggest training camp in Balakot, about 80 km from the Line of Control (LoC).

On Feb 14, 40 Indian  Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers were killed in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama area.

Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were behind the attack.

The incident triggered massive protests and condemnation across the nation.

India blamed Pakistan for the incident.
