Clintons praise Modi for taking up initiative to clean Ganga

New York, Sept 29 (IBNS) Former US Presdient Bill Clinton and ex- US US secretary of state Hillary Clinton on Monday praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking up the initiative to clean the Ganga river.

Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday met Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton.

"Thank you 4 undertaking cleaning of Ganga. It is a sacred project & smart approach -@billclinton to PM @narendramodi," MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted.

"Your efforts at cleaning the Ganga will send a message to others in Asia - @HillaryClinton to PM @narendramodi," read his another tweet.

Modi also congratulated Clintons for becoming grand parents.

"Warmth of welcome. PM @narendramodi & Minister @SushmaSwaraj greet new grandparents @billclinton & @HillaryClinton," Akbaruddin tweeted.
