India condemns terror attack in Kabul

New Delhi, Jan 15 (IBNS): India on Tuesday condemned the horrific terror attack in Kabul on Monday in which an Indian national and many others lost their lives.

"We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this cowardly attack and wish early recovery to the injured," India's ministry of external affairs said in a statement.

The Indian Embassy in Kabul is taking steps for repatriation of the mortal remains of the Indian national.

"India calls for the perpetrators of this heinous attack and those who provide them shelter to be brought to justice expeditiously," the statement added.

At least four people died in blast in the Afghan capital on Monday evening. The incident left 40 injured.

According to media reports, the blast was triggered by a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED).

Interior ministry's Najib Danish told Tolo News among those killed, three are soldiers and one is a civilian.

The injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Several civilian houses were damaged due to the blast.

President Ashraf Ghani meanwhile condemned the attack and labeled it inhuman and against Islam, Presidential Palace said in a statement as reported by Tolo News.
