I wasn't the PM who was afraid to talk to the press: Manmohan

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS): Manmohan Singh on Tuesday indicated that Narendra Modi was the real silent PM because he hadn't held a single news conference since becoming the country's Prime Minister.

Speaking at the launch of his ‘Changing India’ volume of six books, Singh said: "I was not the PM who was afraid of talking to the press, I met them regularly and on every foreign trip, I had the press conference on the plane on returning."

Since before the 2014 general elections, Modi has been taunting the former Prime Minister as "Maun Mohan Singh".

Singh said he hoped the central bank and the government found a way to be on the same page at the earliest.

“I do hope and pray that government and the RBI find a way to work in harmony,” said Singh, who was RBI governor from 1982 to 1985.
