Rahul Gandhi asks workers to pick their CMs through audio message
New Delhi, Dec 13 (IBNS): In a move to project internal democracy of the party, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has asked all his party workers across three states- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh- to name their choices for the Chief Ministers, media reports said.
In an audio message, Rahul reportedly told his 2.4-lakh workers to voice their opinion.
Rahul asked the workers to respond after the beep sound, assuring them of complete confidentiality.
The Congress, which wrested power in all the three states, is looking for the Chief Ministers.
The Congress went to polls in all the three states without announcing their Chief Ministerial candidates.
Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath is the front-runner to assume the Chief Minister's post.
In Rajasthan, anyone between state chief Sachin Pilot and veteran leader Ashok Gehlot is likely assume the topmost position.
Rahul on Thursday told media the decision will be announced shortly.
How Congress won?
In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress, which won 114 seats in a 230-member assembly, is set to form the government with the support of Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which clinched two seats.
Falling short of two seats to acquire simple majority too in Rajasthan, the Congress, which won 99 seats, will form the government along with several others and smaller parties.
In Chhattisgarh, the Congress won the election alone by winning 68 seats, defeating the BJP which won just 15.
