BJP is history changer but not game changer: Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IBNS): In a fresh attack against the saffron brigade, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not a game changer.

Mamata, who was addressing her party leaders and workers at a core committee meeting of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), said: "BJP is history changer, name changer, note changer, (but) not game changer. It is the country's danger."

Aiming at the 2019 General Elections, which will be held in few months' time, the TMC chief urged her party leaders to bridge gaps with the veteran workers who had fought during "tough times".

Mamata Banerjee warned her party leaders about BJP's manipulation with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). She said her party workers should test the voting machines well as the "BJP wants to malfunction 40% of the total EVMs".

The Chief Minister is one of the strong proponents of a federal front to oust the BJP, which is presently ruling the Centre. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will also meet Mamata two days later to discuss the grand alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

In an interesting move, Mamata on Friday announced that her party will contest polls in Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

While state minister Firhad Hakim will look after the party organisation in Tripura, TMC MP Derek O'Brien has been given the responsibility of the outfit in the rest two states.
