New Delhi/Patna, Oct 22 (IBNS): Putting an end to the cold war, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar entered into a pact with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for next year' general elections.

According to reports, Nitish's party will get almost equal of Bihar's 40 Lok Sabha seats.

Kumar will get 16 seats, just one less than the BJP, sources have told NDTV.

According to NDTV's sources, the deal was made in Delhi on the second week of September between Prime Minister Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and the Bihar Chief Minister.

Other NDA allies in the state-Ram Vilas Paswan will get five seats and Upendra Kushwaha will get two seats.

The JD(U) had quit the grand alliance with RJD and Congress after corruption charges were levelled against Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi in 2017.

After the quit from grand alliance, the JD(U) had forged an alliance with the BJP to rule the state.
