Hyderabad, Sept 11 (IBNS): Keeping in mind the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana, the Congress, Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party and the CPI have formed an alliance, media reports said on Tuesday.

The leaders of the three parties met the Governor this evening and demanded that the state - where the assembly has been dissolved - be placed under the President's Rule, reported NDTV.

State CM K Chandrasekhar Rao last week dissolved the assembly.

He has been named the caretaker CM in the state till polls are held.
The Election Commission last week expressed displeasure over CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's party's move of pushing for early Assembly polls in Telangana.

"KCR's comments on elections are preposterous and uncalled for," Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat told NDTV

"We are mandated by the Supreme Court to conduct elections at the earliest possible and there should be no delay," he said.

Rawat said: "We shouldn't allow a caretaker government to take the opportunity of delaying elections."

The term of the Telangana Assembly ends in May next year.
