Suryakanta Mishra slams Mamata over Saradha scam

India Blooms News Service | | 14 Sep 2014, 11:45 pm
Kolkata, Sept 14 (IBNS): Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader and leader of the opposition in the West Bengal legislative assembly Suryakanta Mishra on Sunday blamed Trinamool Congress(TMC) supremo and state chief minister Mamata Bannerjee for Saradha financial scam at a rally in Kolkata on Sunday.

The protest rally was organized by eight Left-Front youth units to protest against the Saradha scam.

Suryakanta Mishra said several chit funds had cheated the poor people of West Bengal during the tenure of the current TMC government.

Not taking Mamata Bannerjee's name, Mishra told, "If someone has to sell her properties in Kalighat to return the deposits of the Saradha victims then she has to do it."

Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mishra asked why the party did not protest against the Saradha scam before the Lok Sabha polls this year.
