Greater Noida buildings collapse: Three people arrested

New Delhi, July 18 (IBNS): Three people have been arrested in connection with the collapse of two buildings in Greater Noida near New Delhi, media reports said.

The owner of the construction site is among the ones who have been arrested.

The incident claimed three lives.

Several people are feared to be trapped under the debris.

The mishap occurred when a six-storey building collapsed on another, reports said.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)  officials, police and the fire brigade are present at the spot, carrying on rescue work.

NDRF tweeted: "#NOIDA Building Collapsed #NDRF Teams are on the spot. So far 3 dead bodies have retrived. Ops Continue."

According to reports, three people have been arrested so far.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate and the police to monitor relief and rescue activities along with the NDRF team, said a tweet posted by the UP CMO.
