
Mumbai: Part of bridge collapses at Andheri Station, rail service hit
Mumbai, July 3 (IBNS): The Mumbai suburban local train service was badly hit on Tuesday after a part of the foot overbridge collapsed on railway tracks close to the Andheri station in Mumbai on Tuesday, officials said.
The cause of the collapse is suspected to be heavy rain.
Part of Gokhale Bridge, connecting Andheri East to West has collapsed affecting the overhead wires too.Trains on the western line are affected.BMC,Fire Brigade as well as RPF Staff & Officers are deputed on spot for support.Traffic above & below the bridge is stopped for now pic.twitter.com/LMcKmwyDCh

Western Railways tweeted: "Part of Road Over Bridge collapsed on tracks near Andheri Station on South end towards Vile Parle . OHE damaged. Traffic on all lines is held up. #WRUpdates @drmbct."

No injuries have been reported so far.
Commuters have been facing troubles as local train service came to standstill in the route following the mishap.
