SCO: Narendra Modi meets Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Beijing, June 9 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in China.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

Modi said he discussed issues related to boosting economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

"Wonderful to meet Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan. Ties between our nations have their roots in history. We reviewed the full range of the India-Uzbekistan friendship, especially ways to boost economic and cultural cooperation," Modi tweeted.

Modi reached China on Saturday.

He is visiting the nation to attend the SCO Summit.

He has also met Chinese President on the sidelines of the event.
