Jammu, June 3 (IBNS): At least two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans died as Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning, media reports said.

This comes even as Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan agreed to implement the ceasefire pact of 2003.

According to reports, the "indiscriminate" firing took place in Pragwal area of Akhnoor sector,  which resulted in the critical injuries of two BSF personnel manning a forward post.

Both the personnel, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector, later succumbed to their injuries at a hospital where they were undergoing treatment.

A policeman and a woman civilian were also injured in the cross-border firing.

The unprovoked firing has also prompted a strong retaliation from the BSF.
