Pak singer Meesha Shafi accuses Ali Zafar of sexually abusing her

Mumbai, Apr 19 (IBNS): A Pakistani singer named Meesha Shafi has alleged that she has been sexually abused by actor-singer Ali Zafar, who has featured in a number of Bollywood films.

In a tweet, Shafi accused her colleague Ali Zafar of sexually abusing her on more that one occasion.

"I have been subjected, on more than one occasion, to sexual harassment of a physical nature at the hands of a colleague from my industry: Ali Zafar," read a part of her statement on Twitter.

In a response to the accusations, Zafar tweeted that he categorically deny any and all claims of sexual harassment lodged against him by Shafi.

He said he has nothing to hide and "silence is absolutely not an option."

Zafar also said he will take this up in the court of law and will address all the allegations professionally.

Meesha Shafi is an actress and singer who have starred in several Pakistani serials.

She has featured in Mira Nair's film The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Shafi also played the role of a swimmer in the the 2013 Bollywood film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

On the other hand Ali Zafar is a known face in India and has starred in a number of Hindi films including  Dear Zindagi, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Chashme Baddoor, Kill Dil and Total Siyapaa.
