Patna, Nov 15 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Social activist Rohit Kumar Singh, who heads Yuva Chetna, a social organization, has been on the non-stop tour of the country for the cause of youths.

He says India has the potential to overtake China if the rulers properly utilize the vast youth force.

According to him, although the youth forms 60 percent of India’s total population yet their issues remain totally unaddressed till date. Singh has been touring with four demands of the youth force.

“I demand formation of a Youth Commission at the national level for the upliftment of this vast youth force which goes neglected. No government has cared about them,” Singh rues.

His other demand is to re-activate the employment exchanges now lying virtually defunct across the country.

“Previously, these exchanges were bringing cheers, providing jobs to the youths but now they have become totally defunct. Instead they have been replaced by call centres for petty private jobs,” he observed.

He further demands “suitable” unemployment allowance to the large number of unemployed educated youths on the basis of their academic qualifications.

His last demand is the formation of National Youth Development Council to draft a policy for employment generation and provide loan to the unemployed youths on minimum interest rate.

“India has more working hands than China and if the country properly utilizes their services, it may overtake even China in matter of growth rate,” he opines.
