Cargo ship sinks off Japan coast, 11 Indians missing

Tokyo/New Delhi, Oct 13 (IBNS): A Hong Kong-registered freighter sank on Friday in rough seas off the Philippine coast, leaving at least 11 Indians missing, officials said.

The MEA said 15 Indians have been rescued so far.

The Ministry said Indian missions in Japan, Philippines and China are monitoring the situation.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "List of 15 rescued Indians as received from Japanese officials. Search on for missing 11. Our Missions regularly monitoring the situation."
