Srinagar, Sept 20 (IBNS): An Army jawan was killed and three others were injured in a sniper attack from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday, media reports said.

The martyr has been identified as Sepoy Rajesh Khatri.

In a tweet, the Army wrote: "General Bipin Rawat #COAS & All Ranks salute supreme sacrifice of our martyr & offer condolences to the family of the braveheart."

According to reports, the Pakistani troopers attacked the Indian Army in Kupwara's Keran sector on Wednesday.

The sniper attack left four jawans injured, who were then airlifted to Srinagar.

The injured were admitted to the Army’s 92-Base Hospital at Badami Bagh Cantonment.

Khatri was declared dead on arrival.

According to reports, the condition of another soldier is in a critical state.
