Sushma Swaraj meets Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina

New York, Sept 19 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in New York.

"Warm encounter reflecting our historical and cultural ties. Courtesy call on Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina by EAM @SushmaSwaraj #EAMatUNGA,"  MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Both the leaders are currently visiting New York city in America.

On the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly session, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono, according to media reports on Tuesday.

At the tri-lateral meet between the leader of the three countries, Swaraj discussed  nuclear proliferation and maritime security with US and Japan, the media quoted spokesperson Raveesh Kumar as saying.

The three leaders also discussed North Korea's recent nuclear and missile tests which is seen as a threat to global security, media reported.

On Monday,Swaraj also met US President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, where the two discussed about women's entrepreneurship.
