Delhi: Man thrashed for conversing in English, three held
New Delhi, Sep 12 (IBNS): In a case of moral policing in the national capital, a 22 year-old man was thrashed by five people for conversing in English with a friend, reports said.
The victim has been identified as Varun Gulati, who is a resident of Noida.
The incident took place on Saturday.
Following a complaint by the victim, police arrested three people and have initiated a search for the other two.
The perpetrators were allegedly drunk when the altercation started.
According to the victim, they thrashed him and left in a car, but Gulati noted down the vehicle number, which helped the police get hold of the perpetrators.
