Kashmir special status : Omar Abullah welcomes Rajnath Singh's statement
Srinagar,Sep 11 (IBNS) : Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdulllah, on Monday welcomed Union Home Minister Rajnath Singhâ€™s statement that Indian government stands to support the on Article 35A and Special Status for the state.
Rajnath Singh, who is on visit to the state, had earlier said at a press conference that the Cente supports Article 35A and the special status act and won't do anything against the emotions of the people.
Reacting to his statement, Abdullah tweeted: “This is a very important statement from the Union Home Minister. His assurance will go a long way towards silencing the noises against 35-A.”
He said that he was willing to talk to anyone who helps to resolve the Kashmir problems.
"I am willing to talk to anyone. I am inviting everyone who is willing to help us in resolving problems of Kashmir,” he said.
Singh said that the situation in Kashmir Valley has improved as compared to last year.
