Cop killed in Kashmir militant attack

Anantnag, Sept 9 (IBNS): A policeman was killed and two others were injured after militants attacked them by showering bullets on KP road in south Kashmir’s Anantnag.

The attack took place near bus stand injuring four policemen, sources said.

They said that the injured were immediately shifted to hospital however Head Constable Imtiyaz succumbed on way.
The slain cop was identified as Constable Imtiyaz Ahmed of Noorbagh Srinagar.

The militant attack took place a day before Home Minister’s scheduled Anantnag visit.

Rajnath Singh who is on a four day state visit to state, is scheduled to attend a function in Dak Bungalow Anantnag on Sunday.
