Amit Shah, Smriti Irani take oath as Rajya Sabha MPs

New Delhi, Aug 25 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah and Union textile minister Smriti Irani took oath as members of the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

Both Shah and Irani won their respective Rajya Sabha seats from Gujarat in the August eight poll.

Amit Shah shared some pictures on his Twitter handle saying that he has sworn-in as  MP in the upper house. The pictures also revealed the union textile minister to be present along with the BJP President.

Shah and Irani were accompanied by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.

After taking the oath, Shah met BJP veteran LK Advani to seek blessings.
