Srinagar, Aug 8 (IBNS): In a surprising move, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met Member Parliament and opposition National Conference president Farooq Abdullah amid a debate on Article 35-A.

Insiders of parties said both discussed the matter thoroughly and in what ways to protect Art 35-A.

“@MehboobaMufti called on @JKNC_ President this evening to discuss the prevailing political situation in the state. It was a cordial meeting,” tweeted National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah.

Omar Abdullah further wrote, Farooq Abdullah suggested that the Mehbooba should consult other parties with an aim to create a wider consensus amongst like-minded parties to prevent abrogation of Article 35-A by the Supreme Court.
