Darjeeling, Jul 8 (IBNS): Darjeeling hills in West Bengal saw a fresh spurt in violence on Saturday when the dead body of a young man was found at Sonada, about 20km from the hill town, according to media reports.

Gorkhaland supporters claim the man was killed in police firing, media reported.

The protesters marched with the body and threw stones at Sonada police station, local reports said.

Police had to fire teargas to disperse the crowd.

Gautam Deb, minister and Trinamool Congress chief of Darjeeling district, denied any police firing, media reported.

"Police are not going for any confrontation with the protesters. No question of them opening fire on a lone youth," he was quoted by NDTV as saying.
