Hang me if found guilty of sexual harassment: MP HC Judge

India Blooms News Service | | 04 Aug 2014, 08:30 pm
Bhopal, Aug 4 (IBNS): The Madhya Pradesh (MP) high court judge, who has been accused of sexual harassment, has said that he is ready to face death penalty if found guilty.

In letter to the High Court Chief Justice, the Judge has said: "I am ready to face any probe by the CBI or any agency and if any allegation be found proved, I am ready even to face death penalty."

This comes after a woman additional judge in Gwalior resigned alleging sexual harassment by a judge of the Madhya Pradesh (MP) high court, reports said.

The victim wrote in her complaint to the President of India, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) and the Union Law Minister that the MP high court judge allegedly asked her to “dance to an item song”.

The additional judge resigned on July 15 and wrote the complaint on August 1.

Chief Justice of India RM Lodha told NDTV on Monday: “I haven’t received the complaint officially... once I get it I will go through the complaint.”

The CJI told the television channel that normally they ask for a report on the complaint from the Chief Justice of the high court.

“In this case, I will seek a report from the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh high court and take action accordingly. I will do my best for the institution.” Lodha said, as reported by the television channel.
