Jammu and Kashmir: Four terrorists killed by security forces as they attack CRPF camp

Srinagar, June 5 (IBNS): At least four militants were killed by security forces after they attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district during wee hours of Monday, officials said.

According to reports,  militants attacked a paramilitary CRPF camp, 45 BN, in Irrigation colony area of Sumbal in north Kashmir's Bandipora district at around 4:30 am.

“Following the attack, army, CRPF and police retaliated, triggering a brief gunfight,” an official said.

“Four foreign militants were killed in the shootout,” he said.

The identities of the slain militants are not known so far.

Meanwhile, DGP SP Vaid tweeted a picture of the four AK-47 rifles and other ammunition that were recovered from the slain militants.

Vaid tweeted: "45 Bn @crpfindia / @JmuKmrPolice killed 4 terrorists at Sumbal #Bandipore who were attempting suicidal attack on CRPF camp. #JaiHind ."

He said: "AKs and huge quantity of grenades recovered. I compliment the alertness of CRPF & J&K Policemen."
