A NSCN (K) and three KLO militants nabbed in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam

Guwahati, Feb 23 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended a NSCN (K) militant and three Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam on Thursday.

According to the reports, security forces on Thursday apprehended a NSCN (K) militant from Arunachal Pradesh’s Wakka area.

Kohima based Defence PRO Colonel Chiranjeet Konwer said that, following tip-off the Khonsa Battalion under the aegis of DAO division conducted an operation at Wakka village about presence of cadre trying to terrorize and carryout extortion in the area and apprehended the Naga militant.

The militant was identified as Pansai Pansa and security personnel recovered a pistol and live ammunition.

Security forces has been carrying out aggressive operations in the South Arunachal Pradesh and this apprehension has struck a blow to the extortion activities being carried out by the underground cadres of the group in the area.

On the other hand, security personnel apprehended three militants of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) from Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

Based on intelligence input, police and army launched an operation at Devdevi village near Fakiragram and nabbed the militants identified as Hujendra Barman, Bijoy Baruah and Hiteswari Baruah.

Security forces  recovered a 12 bore rifle and ammunition in possession from them.
