H-1B visa row: TMC MPs demonstrate outside Parliament

New Delhi, Feb 6 (IBNS): All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP's on Monday morning held a demonstration against US President Donald Trump's newly introduced H-1B visa rule, urging the Indian government to secure the interest of Indian techies, who are expected to face the burnt.

"#BudgetSession Trinamool MPs protest outside #Parliament demanding that the govt secure the interests of IT sector employees," an AITC tweet read.

"'Secure the interests of Indian IT firms creating global value' - Trinamool MPs protest outside #Parliament ,'"a second tweet added.

Earlier in the year, in a bid to 'Make America Great Again', the 45th President of USA increased the base price of an H-1B visa holder to USD 1,30,000, an increment from the previous salary of USD 60,000.

Experts believe that the move was done in order to force the American companies into hiring local talent, since the base price will now force them to pay double than the previous one to an H-1B (non immigrant) visa holder.
