Chennai, Feb 5 (IBNS): The legislators of ruling AIADMK on Sunday are scheduled to meet at the party office in Chennai sparking speculation that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam might be replaced by General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan, media reports said.

The speculations are doing rounds since long and it received a fillip with the party meeting of Sunday having no agenda announced.

Natarajan is not an elected member of the Tamil Nadu assembly.

She took charge as party chief after the demise of former state chief minister J. Jayalalithaa in December.

According to reports, AIADMK top brass have been demanding for long that Natarajan, who was Jayalalithaa's closest companion for years, become the chief minister of the state.

After Jayalalithaa's death in December last year, O Panneerselvam took oath as the CM of the state.
