Pranab Mukherjee wishes US President Donald Trump, invites him to visit India

New Delhi, Jan 21 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday congratulated Donald J. Trump on his assumption of office of the President of the United States of America.

In his message,the President has said, “On behalf of the Government and people of India, it is with great pleasure that I extend to you hearty congratulations on your assumption of office as the 45th President of the United States of America."

"It is a matter of satisfaction that relations between India and the U.S., based on our shared values and common interest, have expanded and deepened in all fields of human endeavour. I am confident that our cooperation will be further enhanced and that working together, we will achieve new milestones in the years to come," he said.

Mukherjee invited Trump to visit India.

"We look forward to an early opportunity of welcoming you and Mrs. Melania Trump to India," the President said.

He said: "Please  accept  my  best  wishes  for  your  success  and  personal well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the United States of  America.”
