Charged with murder of daughter Sheena, Indrani seeks divorce from from Peter

Mumbai, Jan 17 (IBNS): On a day when she was charged with the murder of her own daughter Sheena Bora, Indrani Mukerjea has told a Mumbai court that she wants to to divorce Peter Mukerjea, media reports said.

A special CBI court, hearing the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, on Tuesday charged her mother Indrani Mukerjea and step-father Peter Mukerjea with murder and conspiracy.

Indrani married Peter in 2002.

Indrani Mukerjea's former husband Sanjeev Khanna has also been charged.

Indrani's driver Shyamvar Rai, the fourth accused, had turned approver for the CBI earlier.

According to reports, the  CBI has alleged that Sheena Bora was murdered by her mother over a property dispute and Peter Mukerjea was well aware of the plot..

Indrani Mukerjea is accused of strangling Sheena, 24, inside a car at a place near Mumbai with help from her husband and driver.

The half-burnt body of Sheena  was found in 2015 from forests near Mumbai.

Indrani was arrested in August that year following interrogation of the driver, who was nabbed earlier.

As the investigation proceeded, the arrest of Sanjeev Khanna and Peter Mukerjea followed.
