Trinamool Congress to organise nationwide protest against currency ban, announces Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata, Jan 9 (IBNS): Continuing her fight against currency ban, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced to hold three-day-long dharnas at several states from Monday to Wednesday.

She announced dharna will be held in several states like  West Bengal, Bhubaneswar, Punjab, Kishanganj(Bihar), Manipur, Tripura, Assam, Jharkhand and national capital New Delhi.

"Trinamool Congress is organizing nationwide protest against Modi babu’s shameless flop-show #NoteBandi," Banerjee announced by tweeting.

"Restrictions should be removed. Hardships being faced by millions due to #DeMonetisation," she said.

Banerjee said: "Dharna being held over next 3 days(Mon,Tue,Wed) in Bengal, Bhubaneswar, Punjab, Kishanganj(Bihar), Manipur, Tripura, Assam, J'khand & Delhi."

Meanwhile, protesting against Centre's demonetisation move, Kolkata unit of TMC held sit-in-demonstration in front of RBI office in Kolkata for hours.

The Centre on Nov 8 banned old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
