Payment of pension work taken over by Government of West Bengal

Kolkata, Jan 9 (IBNS): Government of West Bengal has decided to take over the work of payment of pension from the counter of the office of A.G. (A&E), WB with effect from March 1, 2017.

A notification to that effect was published by the state's Finance Department, Audit Branch (notification bearing No.6431-F(Y) dated 15.12.2016) on Monday.

According to the notification, all Government of West Bengal pensioners/family pensioners (including Non-Govt. pensioners, other Govt. pensioners) drawing pension from State pension payment counter of that office are requested to contact with the officer-in-charge of the Pension Payment section of the office of AG (A&E), WB and furnish their option (in the prescribed form) for transfer of their pension/family pension to the Pension Disbursement Office, located at Jahar Building, 5th Floor, P-1, Hyde Lane, Kolkata – 700 073 or treasuries or specified public sector banks within the Kolkata Municipal Corporation area, as the case may be, as early as possible.

The option for transfer in the prescribed format has to be completed by Jan 31, 2017, the notification said.
