Kolkata, Jan 7 (IBNS): Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Kalyan Bandyopadhyay on Friday compared Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claps with eunuchs, local media reports said.

According to reports, while the senior TMC leader was inaugurating a local book fair at Rishra in Kolkata's neighbouring Hooghly district, he addressed the mass, "When Modi shakes his hands during his speeches, he just looks like a clown of circus party and when he claps, it's like a hijra (eunuch) is clapping."

"Narendra Modi does not have guts to face our questions on demonetisation in parliament," Bandyopadhyay added.

Attacking the Modi-goverment over demonetisation, TMC MP said, "Due to Central government's demonetisation move, poor people had to stand in queues for hours, but we did not notice Modi's closed businessmen, including Ambani and Adani, in the bank/ATM queues."

Local BJP leaders, however, condemned of the Trinamool MP's statement.
