Modi to leave for his first BRICS summit on Sunday

New Delhi, July 12 (IBNS): Narendra Modi will commence his first multilateral meeting since taking over as the Prime Minister of the country as he will leave for Brazil to attend the upcoming BRICS summit on Sunday.

He will hold meetings with the leaders of Brazil, China, Russia and South Africa during the visit.

"The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will leave for Brazil tomorrow – July 13th, 2014 to attend the sixth BRICS Summit being held in Fortaleza and Brasilia on July 15th and 16th. The Summit will focus on social inclusion and sustainable development. Shri Narendra Modi will be accompanied by a high level delegation," the Prime Mnister's Office said in a statement on Saturday.

"The Prime Minister will hold meetings with the leaders of Brazil, China, Russia and South Africa. He will interact with leaders of a number of South American countries at a meeting hosted by Brazil," read the statement.
