Guwahati, Dec 16 (IBNS): Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday slammed the Union Home Ministry following its decision to scrap his NSG security cover (Z+).

During a press conference held in Guwahati, the former Assam CM said that, it is a conspiracy against him.

“It is very unfortunate that the state intelligence is not aware of centre’s development to withdraw my NSG cover. If it is so, either the state intelligence is not properly functioning or the centre has not given importance to state intelligence,” Gogoi said.

The former Assam CM said that, generally the security arrangements are done with consultation with Union Home Ministry by state intelligence.

"It is nothing but a political vendetta," he said.

Attacking the Centre and state government, Gogoi said that BJP-led Union government is providing the security to those people who are maintaining ties with the party and touch with the government.

Gogoi also questioned the Union government why the NSG security cover still being felicitated to the former CM and AGP leader Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.

“Why Mahanta’s security cover was not withdrawn. Because his party is the part of BJP-led coalition government in Assam,” Gogoi said.

The former Assam CM said that, BJP had made a conspiracy against Congress across the country.

Gogoi further said that it cann’t stop him from raising issues of Assam.
