Meti submitted his resignation to to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who accepted it and ordered a probe.

A tweet on the Chief Minister's official Twitter page read, "Excise Minister Shri HY Meti has resigned. I have recommended to Honble Governor to accept the resignation. I have also ordered a probe."
