New Delhi, Dec 9 (IBNS): A delegation led by the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah met the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, in New Delhi on Friday.

The Prime Minister's Office had, on Thursday, turned down the CM's request for an appointment, media reported.

An all-party delegation, headed by Siddaramaiah, had sought the appointment to discuss drought-related issues, including farmer distress and loan waivers, according to media reports.

Failing to secure the appointment, Karnataka CM has asked the MPs from the state to raise the issue with the Union government.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday upheld the maintainability of appeals filed by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala against the 2007 award of Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal, the media reported.

The court refused the Centre's stand that the apex court had no jurisdiction to hear the Cauvery river dispute, media reported.
